History of Boone Falls

History of Boone FallsBoone Falls is known as one of the adventurous stopping places of the pioneer Daniel Boone in the late 1700s.
As the story goes, Daniel Boone was running to escape from Indians who were angry at him for hunting on their lands. He found a water fall, which was then four feet high, in the “Boones Creek”. He decided to hide in the waterfall while using a hollow reed he found on the creek bank to breathe through. When the Indians caught up with him they thought he was some sort of a spirit and they left him alone. So, in essence, the waterfall saved his life! Hence the name Boone Falls.
